Meet The Team At Ableworld Gloucester

This entry was posted in August 15, 2023

Ableworld Gloucester have been going from strength to strength this past year, and continue to grow with each passing week and a lot of that accomplishment is down to our fantastic new in-store team. Each member of staff shares the same passion and drive for helping people and their community to maintain their independence and mobility, ensuring every person who comes into store feels comfortable and relaxed.

So, we thought now would be the perfect opportunity to introduce the faces behind the success of Ableworld Gloucester store, and the reason their customers in-store experience is so heartening to both parties.

Store Manager Andy joined the company last year, and has been an asset to the Gloucester team helping to build strong relationships in the local community and getting our company name out there. Before Ableworld ‘’I worked in the food sector but really wanted a career change where I could help people and feel like I really made a difference. I love that in this job, I now have the time to actually talk to customers and build a personal relationship with them too’’. Having Andy onboard at Ableworld Gloucester has made the world of difference to the store. Andy loves computer gaming, anything car related but hates mushrooms, so next you’re in store why not ask him what mushrooms ever did to him?!

Meet Stuart, our deputy store manager, his favourite aspect of the job is seeing how happy customers are when they leave the store with the right product for them and their needs. ‘’Why did I choose to work for Ableworld? To get back to my roots and actually help people in a way no other job can - help people maintain their independence’’. Alongside his love for helping people, Stuart’s love for animals is second to none, he has a small menagerie at home of birds, fish, dogs and more, with so much to give were very happy Stuart’s part of our Ableworld Gloucester team.

Meet Bridget, our newest team member at Ableworld Gloucester, she loves rugby, supporting our local Gloucester Rugby club. Bridget said ‘’I chose to work for Ableworld because I had 16 years care experience under my belt and felt it would be the perfect fit.’’ We feel Bridget has fit right into the team and are excited for her care industry knowledge to set Gloucester store aside from its competitors even more.

We are very excited for what our Ableworld Gloucester team can achieve in the coming year and the team can’t wait to welcome new and familiar faces into store. You can find Ableworld Gloucester store at 1 Longsmith Street, Gloucester, GL1 2HJ. If you need to contact Gloucester store beforehand, please ring 01452 915086.

Meet Mrs Meadows from Gloucester our most recent win back the cost winner. Mrs Meadows won back the total cost of her Hartford Adjustable Bed at £699. Store Manager Andy from Ableworld Gloucester was delighted to let Mrs Meadows know she had won and said ’I am especially excited that a loyal customer from my store has been selected as the winner, giving back to customers is the best kind of work day’’. Mrs Meadows said she is ‘’very happy with the bed I purchased back in May and I’m finding it very comfortable.’’ When Andy spoke more with the winner, he was blown away to find out that Mrs Meadows had won a previous win back the cost competition and said she ‘’couldn’t believe her luck’’. All customers who purchased an adjustable bed within the competition period are put into a draw to win back the cost of their purchase and 3 winners randomly selected every promotion.

From the 4th April to the 3rd July 2023, Ableworld gave its customers a chance to win back the cost of their new Adjustable Bed. We would like to take the time to say thank you for all our customers old and new, for helping Ableworld Gloucester grow into the store it is today. We are thankful that as a company we are able to give back to our customers and hope to continue to do so in the future.

Ableworld Gloucester store Manager Andy attends The Royal International Air Tattoo

Ableworld Gloucester were thrilled to have joined FSDP for the annual Royal International Air Tattoo Show from the 14th July – 16th July 2023. The Royal International Air Tattoo or better known as RIAT is the world’s largest military air show, showcasing an amazing array of military aviation. Although the weather conditions weren’t to be desired this year, our Gloucester store manager Andy and the team at FSDP most definitely prevailed and had a fabulous weekend engaging with attendees and providing advice and support to those who needed it.

Store Manager Andy ‘’It was a fabulous weekend witnessing the incredibly talented pilots as they embarked on a showcase of unbelievable airshow's throughout the festival. You can smell, touch, hear and see the jets in their full glory, it truly is a one-of-a-kind immersive experience and it was a pleasure to be asked by FSDP to join them on this great day.’’ We have worked with FSDP for over a year now and pride ourselves on the relationship we share, we would like to take the opportunity to thank Lou at Flying Scholarships for Disabled People for inviting us along for the event.

Ableworld Gloucester Host Coffee Morning For Age UK

This entry was posted in April 21, 2023

Store Manager Andrew with Jill from Age UK during coffee morning

On Thursday 6th April, Ableworld Gloucester hosted a coffee morning in aid of Age UK Gloucestershire. Store Manager Andrew and the team ensured 100% of proceeds they raised would go to the charity.

Age UK is a remarkable UK leading charity for older people, helping millions of people a year know their rights, offering advice, companionship and support to people to make the best choices later in life.

Raffle tickets cost just £1 and with plenty people entering, Andrew managed to raise an amazing £113 for Age UK Gloucestershire - in hope that we can help make a difference to at least one older person’s life. Ableworld Gloucester’s prize for the raffle was a large hamper, consisting of savoury and sweet treats, drinks and handmade goodies. And the lucky winner of the prize was Mr Triffitt, who was over the moon to receive the call he had won.

We appreciate all customers who entered and gave their money towards such a great cause. And we would like to make a special thank you to Jill from Age UK Help Team for coming along and being part of our coffee morning event with us. We do hope to host more events with you in the future!
